As a Fractional CFO, I work with entrepreneurial businesses to help them grow faster and make more money. In addition to financial expertise developed over 25+ years, I have more than a decade's experience as a CEO, Chairman and Non-Executive Director of businesses in a variety of sectors. 

I have been where you are, experienced the joys and challenges of running a business, and understand the value that a CFO/strategic business partner can bring - but also appreciate that not every business needs, or can justify, having someone in this role on a full time basis.

I am the CEO of Fractionality, a growing network of world-class Fractional CFO’s, and a founding member of Fractional, the new ‘board-as-a-service' strategic CxO consultancy. The Fractional model means that growing businesses can take on a high calibre C-suite executive for a fraction of what it would cost to appoint one on a full-time basis, with the added value of having access to a sophisticated advisory network .

Fundpath: A critical data and business intelligence service for the wealth and asset management industry. As Fractional CFO I am part of the leadership team, charged with ensuring we deploy recently raised venture capital in order to scale the business, and build the investor relationship.

Redmill Solutions: A specialist media data management company, working with some of the world's biggest advertisers, Redmill is a fast growing tech business whose back office did not keep pace with its success. I have put in place the resources, infrastructure and reporting needed to futureproof the business.

Thermify: The smart green alternative to the residential boiler, Thermify have developed a groundbreaking technology which distributes decentralised cloud computing servers into homes, and reuses the heat generated, to heat the home. We are raising capital, with the goals to reduce emissions from cloud compute while eliminating fuel poverty.

Neol Copper Technologies: A young business utilising technology developed in the Soviet Union in the 1950's, a patented alternative to harmful additives found in lubricants in millions of engines around the world. We are preparing to raise capital, announcements soon...

I also advise other interesting businesses including a VC-backed AI startup, a growing Ed-Tech platform, and Europe’s leading fine art printer.

Throughout my career I have been involved in most aspects of raising capital for a variety of businesses, but the campaigns which I have enjoyed the most and believe to be an excellent way of raising funds for a business at the appropriate stage, is equity crowdfunding.

Having developed a blueprint over several years I achieved three successfully overfunded campaigns for my own business ventures (raising over £2m) and have advised on this and other aspects of raising capital. Think of me as a combined CFO<>CMO, specifically for an equity crowdfunding project, for founders who are often time poor and could use some help from someone who has been there to get a campaign off the ground, and over the line.

Using a combination of my finance background and education, coupled with real world experience of running, investing in and advising businesses, I can support or co-lead every aspect of crowdfunding campaigns for your business, from preparation of the business plan and data room, to scripting and creating the pitch videos, through to creating a marketing campaign and building momentum in the crucial build-up (FOMO stage), the fundraising window (execution stage), and the immediate aftermath (consolidation phase).

Equity crowdfunding is a baring but rewarding experience which (if done right) can strengthen the board, the balance sheet & the team, and win a new cohort of ambassadors for your business.

    • Deliver key lessons and insights for each stage of the crowdfunding process

  • Following the initial kick off, I will support you and your team to:

    • Prepare the business plan and supplemental information

    • Formulate detailed timeline with defined steps and actions (three stages)

    • Build the fundraising marketing campaign

    • Support you throughout the FOMO, Execution and Consolidation phases of the fundraising process

Media consultancy.

With more than 25 years in the media sector, I have held a variety of C-suite and advisory roles in both B2B and B2C organisations. I helped build Incisive Media from £1m turnover and 25 staff to, at its peak, £250m+ turnover with 2,000+ staff based in London, Asia and across the USA. For the last decade, following a management buyout, I built one of the most respected photography media companies in the world, which I sold in 2023. 

My breadth of career experience ranges from CEO, CFO, Operational, M&A, Non-Executive and Commercial roles, and I have led and supported major projects in the media space relating to:

  • Launching and repositioning brands

  • Creating data-driven subscription products & membership platforms

  • Building marketplaces

  • Defining core organisational values (Starting with ‘Why?’)

  • Digital transformation 

  • Innovation brainstorming 

  • Fundraising
